New work: CHROMA - a colourful series of floral art prints

After many months of working in the studio, I’m pleased to launch my new colour work today, featuring colour floral portraits. This new series is being released through my new website, which also goes live today. It’s been a busy year!

In this digitally connected world, where a wide range of platforms are used to access the internet – from desktop PCs to tablets computers to mobile phones – I considered it to be very important that using my website and viewing the work be a user-friendly, content-rich experience, but still making sure that the emphasis is on the work.

I felt that after working on the more sombre black and white series Petalum, it was time to look at producing a new series which could be seen as being the opposite in style and tone – light, airy and colourful. Considering that so much of my previous work has been in monochrome, I have to say that working in colour has been an enjoyable experience, but at the same time I’ve had to work at ensuring that colour didn’t take centre stage; I considered it to be an equal component of each image and that it shouldn’t overwhelm the other elements in each study.

It’s my intention that this is the start of an ongoing series of colour floral studies, so more to come!

If you pay a visit to the News page and subscribe – via Email, RSS, Facebook, Twitter and other social media – you’ll be the first to receive updates on my new work, exhibitions and all the other news. Thanks for your interest.
