RAPTOR

From their steely eyes to their razor sharp claws and beaks, birds of prey, also known as raptors, are the highly evolved and efficient hunters of the bird kingdom.

HE TURNED HIS BACK

Gold Award in the Prix de la Photographie 2019 in Paris.

I felt that the image shows a symbolic gesture on the part of the eagle; suggesting his attitude was speaking for all of Nature against the damage we are doing to the world”.

ABOUT THE SERIES: RAPTOR

From their steely eyes to their razor sharp claws and beaks, birds of prey, also known as raptors, are the highly evolved and efficient hunters of the bird kingdom.

“Raptor” features individual black and white portraits of birds-of-prey, capturing the essence of each bird’s character. The work highlights the raw strength and power of each bird, and brings the viewer into their world.

The series also has two special colour portraits, one of which, “He Turned His Back”, won a Gold Award at the Prix de la Photographie 2019 in Paris.

SPECIAL EDITION: PROFILE OF A BALD EAGLE(COLOUR)

He's an impressive bird up close - calm and imposing. I have released this print in both black and white and colour as, while I love the image in monochrome, I couldn't resist the rich colours of his strong yellow beak and brown feathers”.
