‘Lion’s Stare’ - Why Do People Buy My Work?

I don't always get to hear the reasons why people buy my work, but when I do, it makes my day.

In one instance, one of my early animal portraits, Lion's Stare from my Behind The Eyes series, was sold to a newly graduated lawyer. I was told by the gallery owner who sold the piece, that this lady treated herself to the print when she got her first job. She bought it to hang up in her office to remind herself of her inner strength whenever she felt stressed or tired.

Another client emailed me directly after he purchased a print of Lion’s Stare to say how much it meant to him and his young son. They had enjoyed browsing the animal pictures on the website together and his son loved this portrait in particular. “It really spoke to him” his father told me. I love the thought that this young lad will grow up with one of my animal prints and that it will feature in his childhood memories when he is older.

Being an artist and building a business isn’t always easy, but feedback like this makes it absolutely worthwhile, and I am grateful to all those who support my creative work.
