‘Fleur Noir’ Floral Print Featured in House and Garden Magazine

I am delighted that one of my black and white flower photography prints from my Fleur Noir series has been featured in the November 2023 edition of House and Garden Magazine. This edition of the monthly magazine is dedicated to artists, designers and landscape architects and features their work and creative spaces.

Fleur Noir IX’ is a photograph of love-in-a-mist and was created using the chiaroscuro lighting technique.

Chiaroscuro (Italian for “light-dark”) is a creative method used by artists for hundreds of years to evoke drama in their work and I chose Fleur Noir (dark flower) as the title for the series, as it was partly inspired by that classic genre of cinema, where hard lighting and strong contrasts are used to add mystery and intrigue.

Thank you to Clare Foster, Garden Editor at House and Garden for featuring my work!
