Giraffe 8 - Black and White Portrait of a Giraffe

This unusual portrait of a giraffe went off to a collector in Germany recently. It’s a slightly abstract portrait, taken of the back of the young giraffe’s head, which emphasises the long eyelashes, the dark stripe which runs down the back of his neck and the bold geometric pattern of his fur. Giraffes are beautiful, fascinating animals, and I have written about them in this article: The Joy of Giraffes if you would like to find out more about them.

The print shown above is the largest size: 30x30 inches / 76x76 cm and has a limited edition of just 10 prints. Each print is made using our usual archival fine-art paper and is supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.

I have made a series of giraffe prints, any of which would make a great companion print for this one and I particularly like the combination below.

These giraffe prints are part of my Behind The Eyes series, which has the intention of encouraging the viewer to consider animal consciousness and behaviour, and what an animal may “think” or “feel” as it looks right back at the human viewer.

I hope you enjoy viewing the work, and if you would like to add a print to your collection, you can find further details about purchasing prints here.
